Luxury Yacht Chartering

Organising a yacht charter is a challenging business, stitching together all of the important parameters, such as the itineraries, the size, the toys, the time, the place, the crew and the other human resources, which all have to be successfully dealt with before the charter can set sail. In addition to actually knowing the offered yacht and its cruising grounds, what is not better than having participated in one of its cruises? In the galleries below please enjoy my photos from some of them. They might even inspire you for your next adventure.

Antarctica

We flew from Punta Arena on the southern tip of Argentina to King George Island and from there sailed southwards to the Antarctic peninsula into which feels like one of the last frontiers. Maybe it is. On land we experienced penguins up close and the southernmost postoffice in the world. On sea we had close contact with orcas, also gliding under our tender. In a semi submarine we had some magic moments looking at sub surface wild life. Shackleton, Amundsen and Scott did indeed open this continent for us to admire in awe, safely and comfortably by an experienced crew.

Myanmar

Yangon - with the fascinating and gold plated Shwedagon Pagoda is top priority when visiting Myanmar, a laidback corner of the world. Then do some sailing in the Mergi Archipelago amongst thousands of unspoiled islands.Peace and love.

Croatia

Croatia has its beautiful coast line along the Adriatic Sea, with an abundance of history from before the Roman times up to the present. We sailed within the Dalmatian islands among secluded bays, setting out from Split to Brac and then exploring Hvar with the towns of Stari Grad and Hvar, the islands of Hagar and Vis. Black rice and Pasticada were our favourite local dishes coupled with the excellent local variety wines. A perfect cruise for sun, history, gastronomy and nature.

Norway Fjords

Organised by 'Superyacht Norway' we spent 4 days exploring the beautiful and spectacular fjords of western Norway. Breathtaking scenery, traditional Norwegian cooking gourmet style and a visit to Edvard Grieg’s home made this trip a huge success.

Tahiti

Arriving at Papeete airport the flower neckless that greeted us made us almost breathless from the smell of the Tiare Tahiti flower. At Moorea island we were swimming with dolphins and snorkelling with stingrays and sharks(!). In a Motu, a private inlet between reef and mountain in Bora Bora, we had a picnic enjoying the legendary Polynesian hospitality. If ever you think you are in Paradise this must be it! Paul Gauguin definitely thought so, staying on for ten years.

Raja Ampat

Now, that is a smile for you! This girl and her friends greeted us on one of the small islands we visited off the coast of West Papua in the archipelago of Raja Ampat. Exploring some of the islands we experienced what is considered to be the global center of tropical marine bio-diversity. Compared to similar-sized ecosystems elsewhere in the world, this makes Raja Ampat's biodiversity the richest in the world.

Bali

The old hippie heaven is still a peaceful island, mainly I think because of its Buddhist roots, past and present. Sailing around it we still used a lot of time going inland absorbing incenses in the air and watching colourful parades. Not to mention the gastronomy, Southeast Asian cuisine with a unique twist with tantalising flavours make my mouth water just by thinking back. Sate, Pisang Goreng, Babi Guling, the spring rolls…
